We are born without an introduction, looking for our own identities.

Who are “WE”

Where do we ”Belong”

In search of “Self”

My works are an undying effort to understand myself, the people and the surroundings which we live in.

The journey though self–expression has lead to these works, the result of my recent research of textiles, light, color value, movement and understanding of lines and forms, trying to explore the human psyche.

My art is imbued with emotional content that it articulates through a range of styles that evolve from the semi-figurative to the abstract. The search for new forms of

expression over time has lead me to create my own vocabulary as an artist. My journey though self -expression has moved on over the last few years from lively,

expressionistic drawings and in recent years was developed a form of Arabic calligraphy through mono-print, expanding her boundaries.

For my new collection of woven rugs, I broke away from previous paintings, which took me to a world of Abstract Expressionism. It takes with the comforts of the forms I previously used such as the circle and the square and has magnified their existence. A more subtle approach is used, leaving the viewer to determine their own

feelings and experiences in relation to these new and often over whelming paintings.

These works are the result of my recent research and exploration of tools that have added a great dimension and depth to my art. The visually stimulating bright colors and the application of various mediums I has been researching, add a childlike playfulness through light, colour value, texture and movement.

My creative process has a deep physical level. Exploring the compositional potential of color and form on the human psyche. To be in the presence of the pulsingvibrancy of these enormous textiles it is to feel, if only momentarily, something of the sublime unconsciousness that has relentlessly sought to evoke.

I am not interested in making an ‘illustration’ of an experience but committed to using formal Weavers vocabulary, relying on color, shape, mark, and the surface.
